Celeflection: Honouring 20 Years of Trust, Securing the Future
As Jachung Security Services (JSS) marks its 20th Foundation Day (14th July 2026), we find ourselves at a unique crossroads of celebration and reflection – a moment of Celeflection. We celebrate two decades of rapid growth, having expanded our shield of safety across all 20 Dzongkhags with a dedicated force of over 700 security personnel. At the same time, we reflect on our evolution from standard manned guarding into a modern, tech-driven security enterprise. This milestone is not just a look back at our achievements, but a firm commitment to the continuous learning that will secure Bhutan’s tomorrow.
The Reflection
Addressing the gathering, our Executive Chairman, Dasho Palden Jigme Dorji, narrated with nostalgia and reverence the story of how one man’s love for Bhutan resulted in the JSS we know today. The journey began with the late Mr. Jörgen Philip Sörensen, a Danish national who started his career as a security guard and went on to build a global security empire known worldwide as G4S. From Mr. Sörensen’s first visit to Bhutan in 1987 to the present day, JSS has come a long way.
Since its initial inception as G4S in 2006, and its subsequent incorporation on 14th July 2014 into a fully Bhutanese-owned private entity – Jachung Security Services Private Limited – the company has dedicated 20 glorious years to nation-building. Establishing a presence in all 20 Dzongkhags is neither a coincidence nor a matter of chance; it is a testament to unwavering, dedicated service.
In Vajrayana Buddhism, the Jachung (Garuda) symbolizes immense strength and protection. Living up to its powerful nomenclature, JSS has consistently provided niche, reliable security services to our invaluable clients throughout its existence.
Like any great enterprise, our journey has had its share of challenges. While we have navigated the natural ebbs and flows of winning and losing corporate contracts, our primary focus has always been addressing human resource growth and evolving alongside market demands to maintain institutional resilience.
The Celebration
Today, the scale of our operations spans across all 20 Dzongkhags, providing “Total Security Solutions” to public offices, private institutions, and large corporations. As the pioneer of the security industry in Bhutan, JSS remains the undisputed market leader. We pride ourselves on being the country’s only provider of truly integrated security solutions, seamlessly combining highly trained manned personnel with cutting-edge electronic surveillance and advanced security devices. In addition to serving our existing portfolio of valued clients, it is a monumental achievement that we continue to be recognized as the premier choice for security in the Kingdom, setting the benchmark for reliability, integrity, and corporate trust.
One of the highlights of the day was the award of certificates to members of JSS in recognition of their dedicated service to the company. It brings immense pride to the organization that two of our employees have completed twenty years of service with JSS. That represents two decades of dedication and loyalty worth emulating. Additionally, promotions were conferred upon deserving staff members.
The Future
With twenty years of invaluable experience under our belt, JSS is confident and completely ready to take on any challenges that upcoming assignments may present. The numerous hydropower projects currently in the pipeline around Bhutan offer an exciting avenue for us to venture into. We understand that the human resource requirements for these projects will be immense, and we are actively gearing up to participate in these massive national enterprises.
Looking ahead, JSS is poised to embrace the next frontier of security. As Bhutan undergoes rapid digital and economic transformation, our endeavor will be to keep abreast of all developmental changes and prepare to meet the evolving needs of the day. Securing Bhutan’s tomorrow means investing heavily in our human capital through advanced technical training and specialized skills development. By marrying traditional Bhutanese values of trust and loyalty with modern technological innovations, Jachung Security Services will continue to stand guard as a relentless protector of the nation’s peace, properties, and people for decades to come.
The landmark day concluded with a festive gala lunch and a ceremonial cake cutting by the Executive Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer.
